We are celebrating for the second time this month after hearing that we have been shortlisted for the IET Innovation Awards. This comes only a few weeks after being shortlisted for the British Engineering Excellence Awards.

We were shortlisted for designing an innovative dermal imaging system for Eykona Technologies. The product uses a 3D imaging system to record, monitor and manage wound care in hospitals. It is believed that this technology will transform wound care for both medical staff and patients - updating a care system which currently relies on traditional approaches such as still photography and the hand measurement of wounds. The product is shortlisted for the Healthcare Technologies category of the IET Innovation Awards. The process was extremely competitive, with over 400 entries to the awards.

This is just one of many projects that have earned us a reputation for outstanding product design. Other current medical projects include the development of an artificial pancreas, infusion devices, diagnostic and life support equipment, as well as telemedicine.

The winners of the IET Innovation Awards will be revealed on Wednesday 9 November 2011 at the InterContinental Hotel, London, and the achievements of all shortlisted organisations will be recognised.
