The MEDTEC Exhibition at NEC Birmingham, was billed by the organisers as the event to:

Tritteq at MEDTEC 2011"lead the way in celebrating not only an industry that's bucking the economic trend, but also all that's good in British manufacturing. In the face of economic gloom the medical device manufacturing market just keeps getting stronger."

According to the Event Managers, the medical-device  manufacturing market is currently experiencing growth between 6 and  10% annually. In the UK this sector is worth a reported £11 billion.

There were approximately 200 exhibitors at the Exhibition with representatives from many different areas. Triteq were prominent in the design and engineering services category with Ken Hall and Iona Crook, managing the stand on both days of the Exhibition. There were  representatives from many other industry sectors, including  - filtration systems, gas monitoring imaging systems and instrument test and measurement.

Throughout the day there were many presentations in the two theatres and the MEDTEC conference was also taking place with guest speakers from NASA, GE Heathcare, University College London and The National University of Ireland.

I visited MEDTEC on Wednesday, with Andrew Larkins, who was kept busy throughout the day, catching up with clients and many industry colleagues, sharing news and discussing latest industry developments.

MEDTEC 2012 will take place from the 23 to 24 May.
