Hardware Design Engineer

A Hardware Design Engineer is required for an immediate vacancy. We are continuing to expand our engineering department and are looking for good ‘all round’ Hardware Design Engineers to join our team.

Basic skill sets required for the position are:

  • Good Knowledge Of ARM Cortex M3 Processors & Peripherals.
  • PIC Microcontroller or equivalents.
  • Digital Electronics including FPGAs.
  • Good Grounding in Analogue Electronics.
  • A Working Knowledge of the Altium Designer Suite (Protel).
  • Medical Device Design Experience.

With a hands-on approach and experience of designing electronic hardware you will be an ‘all round’ engineer with a broad range of knowledge. Ideally, you will be experienced in working to specific deadlines, requirements and project budgets.

Embedded Software Engineer

Embedded Software Engineers are required to join our talented development teams.

The successful applicants will have an exceptional academic and industrial background.

You will have expert skills and experience in delivering quality C software and design documentation as part of the complete project development lifecycle.

You will have at least 7 years’ experience in developing high quality industrial embedded software.

Essential skills:

  • C language software is essential.
  • Full software lifecycle experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent software development experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within a quality based system (ISO 9001:2000).
  • Experience in developing medical software to IEC 62304.
  • Experience in developing safety critical software to BS EN 61508.
  • Experience in developing tests using LDRA.
  • Experience in developing PC application GUIs in C++.
  • Experience of electronics, microcontroller, ARM and device drivers.
  • Experience in programming in-circuit devices and controlling peripherals.
  • Experience of designing control systems.
  • Knowledge/Experience of GUI design would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge/Experience of Medical products would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Assembler would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Unix, Linux or Windows Operating systems would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of communications interfaces RS232, I2C and USB.
  • Knowledge of RF communication technologies such as GSM, GPS, Bluetooth and WLAN.
  • Knowledge of FPGA development.
  • Team oriented, self-motivated and ability to cope with change.

The ideal candidate will be writing embedded software and be able to provide high quality documentation.  You will be experienced with identifying issues, solving problems and integrating product features.
